Poor Performance Investigations 

The term poor performance is used to describe horses who are not achieving as they have previously or as they are expected to this can be anything from their athletic performance to their behaviour to those horses who are just not thriving as they should be. As each horse is an individual these investigations can cover a broad range of things and rarely following a set procedure. Starting by taking a complete history of you and your horse and discussing the specific concerns you have our vets conduct a full physical examination of your horse and determine what further diagnostics may be appropriate.  Somethings that may be included are - 

• Lameness investigation
  • Ridden assessment
  • Further biomechanics evaluation using our Equinosis lameness indicator software.?
• Gastroscopy
• Endoscopy
• Dental examination
• Reproductive examination (usually in mares)
• Blood tests
• Exercise or diet or management advice

These types of cases often involve collaboration with other veterinary para professionals such as farriers, accredited physiotherapists and nutritionists to achieve a successful long-term outcome.
